Romeo x Juliet: DVD Art

After MONTHS of work on this drawing (Well, more like 17 and a half hours) I finally finished it!!
Those who have been waiting this whole time are probably thinking "Well, it's about time!" Sorryyy, I did not focus on this at all...
I started this... whoa, May 13th of last year. That's over 9 months ago. I finished the drawing on November 25th. And I finished doing digital touch-ups last night.

Well, about the art now! The discs are in order, although I didn't draw them in order. On Disc I, you have Romeo and his dragon-steed, Cielo. Disc II is of Juliet, disguised as a boy (under the name Odin), and disguised again over that as the "robin hood" of Neo Verona, the Red Whirlwind. Disc III is Francisco, and Disc IV is Ophelia, the "speaker" of Escalus.

I gotta say, this was tough. Blending my primitive colored pencil set to get these colors was some tricky business, and I filled two sides of a whole sheet of paper with nothing but experimental color-blend scribbles. Francisco was the hardest for that. Romeo and Cielo, though, goodness that part was detailed! I erased and redrew pieces of Disc I so many times... :^/

Then there's the slight differences between this and the actual DVDs. Some elements are missing. I didn't put the feathers in Disc I, or the petals in Discs II or III, nor the glowing fruits of Escalus in Disc IV. The titles aren't on my drawn versions either. That stuff I left out because it would just make my work that much more tedious. But, I also didn't leave the holes in the middles of the DVDs there, that would totally ruin the picture, so I ended up taking logical guesses at what would fill in those gaps. I think it came out alright.

Gosh, though, I'm glad it's finally over! I'm so proud of how it all came out!
Now I can direct more (if not all) of my attention on my many other things... Long overdue writings, maybe other drawings, semi-abandoned cardboard creations...
